I'm Miranda

I've been working with dogs for over a decade and if there's one thing I know it's the most frustrated dog owners are usually the ones with the most potential. They care deeply. They've tried things. They're still showing up. They just need someone who actually understands what they're dealing with.
That's where I come in.
My background is in behavior modification and balanced training. That means I don't just look at what your dog is doing, I look at why. Drive, history, environment, state of mind, threshold, relationship with their handler. All of it. Before I ever address a behavior I need to understand the whole dog. That approach changes outcomes in ways that basic obedience training simply can't.

I build confident, capable dogs and specialize in the ones other trainers won't take.

No cookie cutter programs. No writing dogs off because of their breed or their past. No pretending one approach works for every animal.
I own two Malinois. High drive, intense, complex dogs aren't something I manage, they're something I genuinely love. If your dog has been called too much, too reactive, too difficult, or too intense, that's not a problem to me. That's a dog worth building properly.
I think about what's driving the behavior before I ever touch it. That's not common in this industry and it makes a real difference in results.
I've trained dogs to full public access standard including dogs capable of flying. I work with cases other trainers refer out. I'm developing a breeding program focused on stable temperament for therapy and psychiatric service dog work.

The dogs that come to Birch & Sage aren't here for quick fixes. They're here because their owners are serious about real change and because confidence, built from the ground up, changes everything about how a dog experiences their life.
If you're frustrated, stuck, or just done settling for a dog that's being managed instead of truly trained, you're in exactly the right place.
Let's get to work.

If you have a high drive dog, a complex breed, or a dog that has been failed by someone else - you're in the right place.
